Flashback!

Back in the day (meaning about four years ago) I use to really be into going to shows. I would go to about two a week. Lucky for me I liked bands that weren't super big so they're weren't expensive! In fact my favorite venue back in Oregon is called the Hawthorne Theater. It's small so it's easier to get up to the front... Maybe being short and people feeling sorry for me helped a bit too. :) Up until recently I think I've gone to maybe one or two shows in the last four-ish years. Weird! But just the other week I went to two shows in four days! Haha. First, I went to the Boyce Avenue show in SLC- they also had Secondhand Serenade and The After Party. Second, I went to the Tyrone Wells show in Provo- they also had Joe Brooks. The Boyce Avenue show was so. much. fun! It was a bigger venue. Probably the size of the Roseland in Oregon but it still wasn't a huge arena which was nice. I've seen Secondhand Serenade before when I was in my "lets go to two shows a week" kick back home in Oregon. He was just as good. :) I also really liked The After Party and I ended up talking to them after the show. They're these super cute punk/pop boys from Kansas that are YOUNGER then me! Um, WEIRD! I was so use to being younger then all the band boys. (I'm getting old) They were also not much taller then me. Haha. Seriously. But of course the tallest guy at the show finds his way right in front of me... This time he was SIX FOOT FIVE INCHES! Haha. That's right- I asked. He was really nice though. The Tyrone Wells show was awesome too! A week before I went to that show I looked up who was opening for him and it was a kid named Joe Brooks from England. LOVE his accent and his super cute face. I bought his album from iTunes and have been listening to it ever since. And of course Tyrone was amazing. He played a lot of music from his newest album so not many people new it because he had just released it about a week before this show. That's okay. :) Here are some pics and video's from my fun times.

First up- the Boyce Avenue show...

 This is The After Party!

Secondhand Serenade!

There he is playing the piano... My heart is melting. ;)

Time for Boyce Avenue!!

WOOHOO!

I LOVE when boys play the piano!

Next up is the Tyrone Wells show...

Joe. :) It was really hard to get good pics of him because he moved a lot.

Sing your heart out, babe!

Waiting in between sets for Tyrone!

There he is! He was playing his Ukelele for this song!

Sunglasses & "No Teeth Smiles"

Yep! That's right! One thing I learned last year at the Colors Festival was to not smile with your teeth and that I should have worn eye protection! Last year we went with a big group of friends and Ben thought it would be funny to throw the color in your face when you weren't ready for it... In result of that the color got under my contact. OUCH! It was extremely painful so I had to take my contact out and just throw it away. I only had one contact in and that was quite strange. I have awful eye sight! This year I was determined to be prepared. Bri drive up from Vegas and it was so much fun! Every year they have this festival it gets bigger and bigger. Traffic was AWFUL! It took us an hour to get there when on any other day it would have taken 15 minutes. Here are some pictures...

Look at those white teeth! We got down the "no teeth smile!"

Me... After. About ready to dust off!

Bri and I met up with Ellen and her friends!

People were throwing it IN my car! How rude!

I LOVE this picture. This is the throwing of the color.

Here's a video...

Girls + Paint Balling = ???

Well, believe it or not I went paint balling for my first time here in Utah! To say the least I was TERRIFIED. Especially because the guy taking my money said there were professionals in  the "arena". Um, arena?! AND, professionals?! AH! I was shaking in my pants... Speaking of pants- my friends said "just wear sweats and a sweatshirt that you don't care about." So, I wore a fleece jacket and some old running pants with nothing under them. Everyone else wore jeans under their sweats so that if they got shot it wouldn't hurt as bad. HA! I didn't get that memo. We had to wait for some friends that were late so that just gave me more time to get really nervous. I've only ever shot three different kinds of guns once and that was like three-ish years ago. So, we go in and get lectured about all the rules and how to use everything and on and on and on. I was nervously laughing the entire time. We get ready to go in and we enter the arena... There's no turning back now. We get split up in teams and the whistle blows! My heart starts beating out of my chest and I RUN as fast as I can behind one of the balloon things and just start shooting. I stayed in for a few minutes and then I finally get hit twice really fast. I got hit in the shoulder and then right on my ring finger nail. The finger one hurt so bad my hand wouldn't stop shaking. It was annoying because I needed it to stay still! My shoulder was just sore but that's where I got the SWEET bruise! After I used up all my paint balls I went out and hung out. It was SO fun! Why have I never done this before? Even though I'm still terrified for my life I would totally do it again. :)

Here are a few before and after pictures:

This is only Jamie and I but we had a group of about 8-10 girls...

After! We have a few paint ball "splats". :)

Here is the healing process of my bruise... It's SWEET! I love it. I wanted something to show for being so "tough"!

This is the night of paint balling.

The day after...

Two or three days later...

And today it's almost gone! I will miss it but it was fun. Maybe I should just go back and get some more. ;)

Wedding Colors

You're probably thinking "WHAT?! Wedding colors?!" Hahaha. No, I'm not engaged. In fact I don't even have a boyfriend. Ha! But a wedding is every (most) girls dream. And I have a guy friend that has asked me randomly a few times what I want my wedding colors to be and I had never REALLY thought about it. He never believed me when I said that I didn't know. So, I've been thinking about it recently since I have a little extra time on my hands here in Utah. I've come up with two different color schemes...

First, this one I found when I was shopping for prego clothes with my friend Lizzie at Target. We walked through the greeting card section and I saw these blank cards on clearance and I fell in love with the colors! Funny how you can find things like that.

Next up, I was just going through my nail polish colors and I REALLY liked these three colors together. They're all very subtle and I love it! Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE gray! And, my friend Camille asked me to be one of her bridesmaids for her wedding and her colors are white, gray, and LIGHT light pink. I just switched the pink for LIGHT light turquoise. :)

So, there you go. My future wedding colors! LOVE LOVE LOVE them! :)

Current Obsession!

Can you guess it?!................

Yep! Cheez-Its! I love them so much. I could eat them for every meal of the day. I know, it's SO bad. Especially because I'm lactose intolerant and there's cheese in them. AH! Can. Not. Stop!

Vegas Bound!

Since I'm only about 6.5 hours away from Vegas why wouldn't I take advantage of that and take a drive down there?! I have a free place to stay and lots of friends! :) Little did I know that a 6.5 hour drive all by yourself it extremely boring. EXTREMELY boring! I made it through and by the time I got to Vegas I was exhausted. It's funny that sitting on your bum for 6.5 hours straight can get you tuckered out. Haha. Once I got there Bri and I went to dinner because I was STARVING! Eating road trip snack food is not fulfilling, at all. Sorry Cheez-Its- I love you but you're no good for me! Then Bri got us free tickets to go to the wax museum on the strip! I didn't go there last time I was in Vegas so it was fun to experience something new on the strip. In fact, that was the only time we even went to the strip this trip. I'm okay with that though. I still had homework to do while I was there and Bri and my other friends still had to work so it all worked out. We also went geocaching and hiked Lone Mountain in the dark. We were not prepared... At all! I was wearing my Toms(shoes) and I didn't have my inhaler so I about died on my way up. It was a beautiful view of the ENTIRE Las Vegas Valley so even though I was dead I'm glad I did it. I also hung out with the "boys" a lot which is always fun! Dallan took Bri and I out to an authentic Mexican restaurant and it was SO yummy! I even tried beef tongue. That was a little weird but it didn't taste too bad. There were a few practical jokes played on Dallan, Josh, and me. I love joking people... Anything to laugh and to get someone else to laugh. Come Wednesday and it was time to drive home to Utah. I was totally dreading driving home 6.5 all by myself but it went by faster than the drive down so that was good. I came back to a lot of snow. Lame, but at least the weather was warm and sunny in Vegas... It was in the 70's the whole time I was there. It even rained a little bit- made me feel like I was home in Oregon. :) Here are some pictures of all the fun!

 What's up Hugh?
 Nice, Tiger!
 You can't get the balllll!
 Evil Knievel Bri!
 Achey Breaky Heart!
 Mr. President.
 Bri mustache you a question...
This is from the top of Lone Mountain. That's the strip in the middle.
Dallan's car that we pranked! He loved it. :)
We also played some Bingo at Alliente.
On my drive to and from Vegas I drove through Arizona. I had never been there before. :)

Newspaper Nails!

As you have seen I've been having lots of fun with all kinds of nail art! I was on pinterest a few days ago and I saw these newspaper nails and it was love at first sight! It's rather a simple process... It just takes some time to complete. So, patience is a great thing if you want to do these nails...
1: Paint nails desired color. Two coats looks better and the lighter the color the better it will show up.
2: Wait wait wait until it's completely dry. At least an hour. It's no fun when the newspaper gets stuck on your painted nail.
3: Pour some rubbing alcohol in a small container. I used the lid of finger nail polish remover. Dip the finger you want to do i nit for about 10 seconds.
4: Press and rock back and forth the print you want on that nail and then lift it off evenly
5: Wait until dry and apply a QUICK clear coat. Try to only go over the nail ONCE or else the print will smear. You can let it dry and apply another better clear coat if you desire.

This is my left hand...

This is my right hand...

This is my favorite nail... It's Charlie Brown's head. :) Sorry the picture is dark.

I love this. It's so fun and you don't just have to do words. I did Charlie Brown, sudoku, and other random parts of words. I wish it would stay on my nails forever!
